Should I split to EML first?
Only if you need the messages outside Outlook. Direct MBOX to PST avoids an extra download if Outlook is the destination.
Can Outlook for Mac open the PST?
Desktop Outlook on Windows is the usual PST consumer. Confirm the Outlook edition you actually run before you migrate.
What if the MBOX is huge?
Guest fair-use limits apply. Very large stores are a Business job, not a browser upload for a single session.
