01When an OST is the wrong container
An OST is a cache. If the mailbox is gone, the profile is broken, or you need a file you can archive independently of Exchange, you need a PST — not another OST.
This page is for that recovery path: one OST in, one validated PST out. It is not a bulk tenant migration; use Densem for Business when you have hundreds of mailboxes.
02What we check
The worker identifies the file as OST, extracts messages in isolation, assembles a PST, then validates the result before download. A failed validation does not produce a silent half-file.
Encrypted, empty or corrupt OSTs are stopped with a diagnostic instead of a fake success.
03Limits of a guest conversion
Guest tasks are for a single file. Inputs and outputs expire after delivery. Do not treat this as long-term archive storage.
