OSTEML

Extract OST to EML

If you do not need Outlook again, skipping PST avoids an extra Microsoft container. We read the OST in isolation and emit EML messages you can open in other clients or archive as RFC 822 files.

No account on the public uploader. Guest jobs stay within five conversions and 250 MB per day. Business rates start at €0.80/GB for OST → PST.

OST without returning to Outlook

OST exists because Outlook cached a mailbox. If the destination is Thunderbird, a ticket system, or raw message files, EML is the honest output.

Choose OST to PST instead when a colleague still works in Outlook and needs a single archive file.

Isolation and diagnostics

The file is identified as OST before extraction. Profile-locked or damaged caches fail with a reason, not a zero-byte zip.

One file, one job

Guest conversion handles a single OST. For a directory of caches, use the Business workspace.

Questions

Is EML lossy compared with PST?

EML is the message. PST also stores Outlook folder metadata. If you only need the mail, EML is enough.

Can I do this offline forever?

Downloads expire. Keep your own copy; Densem is not an archive host.

What if the OST is still attached to a live profile?

Copy the OST while Outlook is closed. A locked live cache may not upload cleanly.
